Last night I watched a report on WGRZ-TV where Crystal Peoples-Stokes was interviewed concerning the scandal surrounding Sheldon Silver. She referred to the news about other women coming out with statements about sexual indiscretions that Silver covered up, as “piling on” and made reference to “terrorism.”
Peoples-Stokes should be ashamed of herself. It takes great courage and inner strength for a woman to come forward after she has been sexually harassed.
When Vito Lopez was accused of such offensive behavior it was Silver who brokered a deal to cover up Lopez’s actions. Now when there is further evidence that Silver covered up many such situations Crystal Peoples comes to his defense. What is she thinking?
Crystal Peoples-Stokes is a disgrace to women everywhere. Is she on Silver’s list of cover-up folks? Is she paid to do this? Payments can come in all manner of ways; money, perks, advancements, positions,… What is her bottom line?
I am proud of Mickey Kearns, the one representative we have who is calling for Silver to step down. Good for you Mickey Kearns. The other Assemblymen in our area have not voiced any opposition. Dennis Gabryszak, Sean Ryan and Robin Schimminger need to take a stand on this issue, but do they have the guts to do so?
Likewise, our State Senators: Mark Grisanti, Tim Kennedy and Michael H. Ranzenhofer should take a public stand on this. Is it alright with any of them to let Silver continue? If so, how would they possibly justify that?
Vito Lopez, the sexual predator who Silver was protecting by paying off the women Lopez raped, should have been removed years ago. He was allowed to stay and continue to rape others who worked in the assembly and then threatened them into silence.
Crystal Peoples is a disgrace to her own people and to every woman who has been sexually harassed.
