Now that Kathy Hochul has been sent to Washington her Erie County Clerk position is open. She did an excellent job and we were lucky to have her serve in that position but now we face the question of who should fill that vacancy now?
I am proud to say that Nancy Hochul is a friend of mine. There are very few politicians of her caliber. She has the fortitude to fight for what she believes is in the best interest of the people she represents. Who will be able to carry on the same strong fight for us?
Dan Ward is that kind of person. He is the kind of person who is above reproach. His history is strong and he is never swayed by graft, a rare quality in today’s world.
Recently Dan Ward left the political world and entered public service so he hasn’t been in public view yet every day people search out stories about him on this website. We receive many inquiries about when he will return to politics. Maybe now is the time.
When Dan served on the Amherst Town Board he was clearly the voice of the people against special interest groups. He took a lot of heat from those money packed developers and other powerful special interest groups but stood his ground.
Those powerful groups had websites set up and took that opportunity to attack Dan and his family. He stayed strong and continued to speak out against major corruption in our Town of Amherst.
Dan Ward had been in politics for many years was never involved in any type of scandal. He has the energy, intelligence and integrity to run the Erie County Clerk’s office.
Ward ran a campaign against Joel Giambra for County Executive. He entered the race late after being urged to run by many people. At the conclusion Giambra won but the margin was Giambra 55% to Dan Ward’s 45%. A few more weeks and Dan would likely have won.
Dan Ward would be an excellent choice for the Democrats to choose. His reputation of being a hard working, honest politician is well earned.
