Poloncarz Joins In National Salute To Veterans

Poloncarz with Veteran

Annual Observance Brings Community Members Together to Visit Hospitalized Veterans

ERIE COUNTY, NY— Today, Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz was joined by community members, veterans and Valentine’s Day well-wishers at the VA Western New York Healthcare System to extend greetings and express appreciation to hospitalized veterans as part of the VA’s annual “National Salute to Veteran Patients” program. Held during the week of Valentine’s Day each year, the event offers communities around the country the opportunity to spend time with veterans, take part in events at VA centers, and learn more about volunteer opportunities there.

It is an honor to visit these veterans, and to have the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ for their service and sacrifice to our community and country,” said Poloncarz. “These men and women have given selflessly in defense of America, and I encourage all residents to join in expressing their gratitude for what these men and women have done. They are true heroes.”

Each year during the National Salute, the VA invites prominent community members, Veterans groups, civic organizations, businesses, schools, and others to participate in activities at their local VA Healthcare System. These activities can include special ward visits, valentine distributions, school essay contests, and other programs designed to show appreciation for veterans.

Yeah look at how he treated the unions – who backed him – stabbed them in the back and gave them a WORSE contract than they had with Collins. Big talker.
