A Familiar Buffalo Face Featured in Macy’s ‘Remarkable’ Fall Ad Campaign

Watch for BPO Music Director JoAnn Falletta in Macy’s new fall ad campaign, which includes a 30-second TV spot running through Oct. 6. 

Macy’s latest ad campaign features a familiar face: Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Music Director JoAnn Falletta. She is one of six inspiring women in the retailer’s new campaign, “Remarkable You.”

Featured along with Falletta is a public defender, aerospace engineer, civil engineer, fourth-grade teacher and NBA assistant coach.

It all started when Falletta’s manager got a call in New York City from Macy’s saying they were planning a campaign of women “paving the way for future generations,” as a release stated.

“They asked about me and, frankly, I was a little frightened,” Falletta said in a phone interview. She agreed to do it and, in June, headed to Hollywood for a couple of days of filming.

“It was the most glamorous two or three days I ever had in my life. It also opened up a whole different world to me,” said Falletta.
