Morty the corpse flower at the Buffalo Botanical Gardens is now in full bloom.

The Gardens sent out the news shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday, and pointed out Morty will only be in full bloom for the next 24 to 48 hours. In recognition of this, the Botanical Gardens is extending its hours Monday and Tuesday, opening at 10 a.m. and staying open until 11 p.m.

Although it has been four years since Morty last bloomed – setting records for attendance in 2014 – the stinky flower is actually returning ahead of schedule. Corpse flowers usually bloom every seven to 10 years, according to the garden’s experts.

Updates on Morty are available on the Botanical Gardens’ website, Facebook page – Buffalo Botanical Gardens, Twitter and Instagram accounts – @buffalogardens, and through Morty’s Twitter account @Mortystinks.
