WNY Heroes and Mercy Flight to Participate in Armed Forces Weekend

Special Discounts for Military, Police and Fire Personnel This Weekend As The Great Pumpkin Farm Kicks Off Its 23rd Annual Fall Festival.

Clarence, NY – The Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence, NY will kick off its 23rd annual Fall Festival this weekend: Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16 from 10:00 a.m. to dusk with a special Armed Forces Weekend in collaboration with WNYHeroes, Inc. The regular admission fee will be waived for active duty and retired military, police or fire department personnel who present proper identification to WNY Heroes representatives at the gate; they will also be permitted to bring one guest for free.

MercyFlight, which provides emergency medical care via air and ground transportation, will be here with Beulah, the organization’s educational BO-105 helicopter. Festivalgoers can enjoy taking photos near Beulah and learn more about Mercy Flight’s lifesaving, non-profit mission (and maybe win a prize or two!) at the Mercy Flight booth.

As with every year at this annual fall attraction tradition, there’s something for everyone, including amusement rides; hayrides; cornmaze; the pumpkins and mum patch; pumpkin cannon; shooting gallery; homemade donuts, pies, cookies and pastries; Halloween decorations and special events, such as the World Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest, the Trebuchet Contest and Oinktoberfest, New York State’s BBQ Cook-off – and so much more!

Other special attractions this Opening Weekend of the Fall Festival include:

Sylvia Fletcher & Friends Ventriloquism! World-renowned professional actress/ventriloquist/comedian Sylvia Fletcher will dazzle you with her talent, unforgettable characters, inanimate objects and voice illusions. “Ventastic” is a true production masterpiece that will amaze you as it makes you laugh! Show times on Saturday and Sunday are 12:30, 3:00 & 4:30 p.m. FREE with Festival admission.

Dinosaurs in the Cornmaze Vinnie and Teddy will be roaming the cornmaze looking for their prey!  Feeding time is noon to 4:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. $6 admission ($1 off coupon included with Festival admission; children two and under admitted free)

Magic by Mike & Annie Mike Baron and Annie have been performing magic all over the country for well over 50 years! This magic experience, which takes place in the Pumpkin Palace next to the Cackling Hen Revue, is full of comedy and audience participation opportunities the whole family will enjoy! Show times on Saturday and Sunday are 11:30, 1:00, 3:00 & 4:30 p.m.  FREE with Festival admission

The Festival also runs on Monday, October 8 (Columbus Day)

Weekdays at the

Great Pumpkin Farm:          The Great Pumpkin Farm is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to dusk from Monday, September 17 through Wednesday, October 31 (closing time October 31 is 5:00 p.m.) There is NO admission on weekdays, except on Columbus Day, October 8. The Pumpkin Palace is open and features Halloween decorations, a bakery and candy store as well as the Witches Brew Bar & Cafe. Guests can purchase pumpkins; cornstalks; gourds and cider. There’s also a petting zoo, hay maze and playground. Group tours are also conducted during the week.

Cost:                                 Admission to the Fall Festival is $8.00/person
(children two and under admitted free)

Discounted tickets are available at all Buffalo and Rochester Wegmans.

What You Get:                The admission fee includes the Sylvia Fletcher & Friends Ventriloquism; Magic Show with Mike & Annie; Cackling Hen Revue Show; petting zoo; face painting; cow train ride; tractor-drawn hayride; children and adult pie-eating contests; scarecrow-making contest; mummy-wrapping contest and kids’ craft area.
