A Juror in a Murder Trial Went Online to Find More Information. That Led to a Mistrial.

A murder trial in Buffalo ended in a mistrial this week after a judge determined there was juror misconduct.

Prosecutors will retry the case against Lemuele Jackson, accused in a double-shooting in August that killed a 26-year-old mother of two.

The juror went online to obtain information from the Erie County District Attorney’s website along with media reports with Jackson’s photo, bringing them to deliberations on Tuesday, District Attorney John J. Flynn said.

The juror was the only obstacle to a unanimous verdict in the case, according to a law enforcement source.
