Family ties: Ted’s Co-owner Transfers Control of Sheridan Drive Location to Daughter

Ownership of the 70-year-old Ted’s Hot Dogs restaurant in the Town of Tonawanda is shifting from father to daughter.

Peter T. Liaros, whose own father, Theodore S. Liaros, founded Ted’s Hot Dogs in 1927, sold his half interest in the restaurant at 2312 Sheridan Drive to his daughter, Thecly L. Ortolani, according to a deed filed in the Erie County Clerk’s Office. The price was $600,000.

Peter Liaros and Ortolani are co-owners of Ted’s, along with other family members. The Sheridan Drive restaurant opened in 1948 and is the oldest of 10 operating locations of the chain known for its char-broiled Sahlen’s hot dogs, onion rings and loganberry.
