The Village of Williamsville Applies for a Grant to Repair Their Sewer Problems

July 10, 2019

Explanation about the sewer problems between the Town of Amherst and the Village of Williamsville

by editor Jim Tricoli

As of today, there isn’t any written agreement between the Town and Village, according to each party.

The Town told the Village they must repair their sewer problems which will cost about $3 or 4 million which the Village can’t afford. The Town helped the Village apply for a grant which would be for the needed repairs to the VIllage sewers. If they receive the grant then the Town and Village will begin serious talks about combing the two sewer systems.

If the Village doesn’t get the grant they will have to find a way to get the money on their own to do repairs. If they can’t find the money on their own the Town will not come to their rescue.
