Williamsville East Graduate Writing and Producing New Fall ABC Series

The days when the networks unveiled a large number of new shows in the fall apparently are over.

ABC became the third broadcast network Tuesday to announce it is planning to air only three new series in the fall.

And one of them has a Western New York angle.

Williamsville East graduate Michele Fazekas and her writing partner Tara Butters are the writers and executive producers of a new 10 p.m. Tuesday drama called “Emergence.”

ABC describes it as a “character-driven genre thriller” “about a police chief who takes in a young child she finds near the site of a mysterious accident who has no memory of what happened.” Donald Faison and Clancy Brown are the most recognizable names in the cast.

Fazekas and Butters previously combined on the ABC dramas “Kevin Saves the World,” “Resurrection” and “Agent Carter” and the CW hit “Reaper.”
